I am having a problem keeping it in neutral when running it seems to want to . Went to use the JD 240 skidsteer the other day and bucket tilt controls wouldn't work. Hydraulic system loads up no matter which way petal is moved. Thought cylinder packing may be bad, nope both good. Took control valve apart and cleaned it. My John Deere 4990 won't go in a straight line. It weaves, and pulls to the left, and when I slow down at the end of the windrow it will pull verry hard one way.. John Deere says its the charge pump. I've checked the steering linkages with no . John Deere recommended pulling the engine to fix and put in a updated "spring pin". The tech was able to do it by just raising the engine instead of unhooking everything and pulling it, but it was still a pretty big job. Thankfully Deere stood behind it and got the work and parts covered under some type of emissions warranty.

There have been issues with the JD 5000 series tractors - don't know how wide spread. Don't know how much is the squeaky wheel being heard (rightfully) more than the many that are doing just fine year in and out (that we never hear about). Bottom line IMHO - is, there are some problems with the 5000 series JD's one can google. Well after taking the hydraulic pump and charge pump off the tractor replacing all orings and gaskets,I did find one really bad oring where the compensator valve goes on the pump but everything else looked like new and did check the relief valves which were fine put it back together and got 1600 lbs pressure which made me think that my pump was . On our 7320 the 1st remote lever "sticks" for continuous flow for like hydraulic rakes. Well got in it today and hooked up the Vermeer rake and the lever won't stick.. Any of you guys know what's going on? I planned on balling hay tomorrow but there's always the first of the season set backs like this..
It has two sets of remotes on the back that are stuck, and I was talking with a gentleman from local John Deere dealership about fixing them to run a V rake, wrapper, and plastic mulch roller. He said all 2040's are closed centers and might give me problems with some of my hydraulic powered implements.
