I have logged many many hours in the seat of bigger models of Bobcats and they would be standing on the bucket with this load. It has proven to be a very good engine and commonly used world wide in Nissan and Renault small cars. You could have the only skid steer around with EFI, VVT and DOHC. There is a model 4140, 4150, and 4155, too. I know that I have an IH skid steer brochure in my files someplace but I can't seem to find it. I believe that these machines were built by Northwestern. The 4120 was really bizarre in its design in that you sat at the tail end of the machine, behind the engine.
They went out of business about 10 years ago as I recall. There is a skid loader dealer up there that bought out all of their parts and decal stock. Might give them a call. I have heard that they were VERY well built but not as user friendly as others like Bobcat, CASE, Deere, ect. I have only driven a smaller one(IH 4130) and it was cool. These where made by Hydra-mac for IH. They where partnered. 4120, 4125, 4130, 4135, 4136, 4140, 4150, 4155 all Hydra mac made for IH. 4150-4155 Are the holy grails. But so is the 4136, 1 year only made. I have all the factory brochures. Took me a few years to find them. This is my first skid steer and it was purchased cheap with a dead onan engine (in pieces) and some Jerry rigging to the overall machine. Id like to get the hydraulics stock and in good condition. Is there a diagram available anywhere? Hello All! I recently heroically saved a 1970 IH 3200a Skid Steer from a salvage yard before it hit the crusher. The machine came non-running and was missing a few parts. However, it did come with a backhoe 3 point attachment. I believe it is a 3082. My cost, including transport was 00.
Another source that I have is a 1982 Dealer's Association Industrial Equipment Guide and it does not list a manufacturer for either of the 4140 engines (an oversight, I think). The guide does list Isuzu as the brand of both the gas and diesel engines for the larger 4150 and Onan as the manufacturer of the engine in the 4130. we had a might mac skid steer about a 4 foot wide machine way back in the mid 70.s was better than wheelbarrow, had a 2 cylinder onan and resembled a gehl skidsteer at the time with the 2 t handles. got traded for a used 743 bobcat , in early 90.,
I recently obtained a 4136 IH skid steer, same machine as a Hydra-Mac 9C lll. Has the cutest little 2 cyl Isuzu diesel in it. Seems to run good and hydraulics and hydrostats all seem good, so far.
