I recently put OTT tracks on and think for general ranch type work a wheeled machine with OTT's is the best of both worlds. I will admit a track machine would be nice but the cost of operating one is not worth it to me. I can take the tracks on or off in about 30 minutes. I really on need them when its wet out. I need to replace 1 tire on my skid steer but am thinking of putting 4 new tires on. The sidewalls are cracking bad at the edge of the thick rim guard. I know why they stopped selling Eurogrip tires. LoL I have 1 good tire I replaced a few years ago .
My 3/8" dewalt impact makes splitting the track a 3 minute task, and then its just R&R of the tire. I didnt have a spare handy so I had to shut down, go to town, get my tire fixed, etc. Spent half my day finding a tire shop that had a correct tube as nobody stocks them anymore. Smooth concrete hours of 4000 are more common than not. i build about 10 -15 tracks a year and maintain my personal 1.4 mile outdoor track. if you are talking about more of an outdoor style with elevation changes and natural jumps, a dozer would suit you better for sure. more sx style a track loader would be better. i have a deere 550j and a new holland c185. i hardly ever take the track loader out .
