I have a Case 435 skidloader in the shop that I need to tilt the cab forward to check out a starter problem and the cab is very heavy, hard to tip forward. I suspect bad gas struts, but there is no operators manual with the unit and I don't want to break something by using a hoist if there is something holding it.If the machine will not run you can hold the ride control and float buttons while using a crane or the like to manually raise the loader arms. Raise your loader arms up all the way and put in the loader arm lock. Remove the 2 bolts at the rear of the cab with a 15/16" wrench. Tilt the cab forwards. The lift cylinders will make lifting the cab very easy as it may try to rise on its own once the last bolt is removed. The cab lift lock pin will need to be removed, if it is in place, before un bolting the cab. But basically you lift with both hands the cab as it pivots on pins in the back above the radiator. It will stay when all the way lifted, but will not stay with it lifted up 1 or 2 feet. Thats after you remove the nuts & washer hold it down.

Another way to get all the wheels off the ground so you don't have a teeter totter is to put blocks under the rear corners of the machine and then use the bucket in dump to lift the front of the machine and block it. My 2006 CAT 242B has the same cab tilt procedure . place supports under the rear of the machine, remove the two 15/16" nuts from the front inside corners of the cab, close the door, tilt the cab upward and ensure cab support lever is in the engaged position.
