The cones with the tennis balls will be placed slightly behind the barricade.Competition will include skills tests for backhoe, skid steer, and mini excavator. Join us as we defend our 2023 National APWA ROADeo Title! Individuals will be tested on their knowledge of vehicle safety and operations, and their operating ability of a backhoe and mini-excavator. Representatives from Public Works Departments across the Mid-Atlantic states will compete on the snowplow, backhoe, front-end loader, automated refuse truck, rear load refuse truck, knuckle boom, street sweeper, mini-excavator, zero-turn mower, CDL skills and line truck.Join us for the 7th Annual Georgia Chapter APWA Equipment Roadeo. Our Annual Equipment Roadeo is back in Perry, GA, where we held our very first event in 2018. Competitors can choose to compete on a mini excavator, mini street sweeper, or both, for the cost of just one event.
Each year, public works equipment operators from the Bay Area compete in the American Public Works Association (APWA) regional contest known as the Equipment Roadeo. Operators demonstrate various precision skills with backhoes and mini-excavators in timed sessions and with obstacles while avoiding penalties from miscues.
COMPETITION: Agency teams will compete for a trophy based on overall scores in four competitions: Backhoe Skills, Mini-Excavator Skills, Sign Assembly, and Wheelbarrow Obstacle Endurance.The Annual Equipment ROADeo is a chance for participants across the state to test their skills by maneuvering machinery through specific obstacle courses. Usually held during the Fall Conference, participants demonstrate the skills it takes to perform the daily internal operations of the Public Works Departments. The Equipment Show features some of the regions latest heavy equipment, construction, municipal and Highway products & services from top vendors.
