Operates very much like a backhoe only can traverse steep hills etc. The boom only swings left and right 90 degrees like a backhoe. An excavator is on tracks and has a house that swings plus a boom that swings as well and no bucket on the front.
We have had this trackhoe for probably 4 or 5 years now and I am starting to think about maybe selling it. It is a Cat e70b but it is a grey market machine. I would estimate that it probably could dig a 16' or so deep hole with the boom and it has a 2' bucket on it. The bucket has some play in it but the rear of boom is fairly tight.

It started out super herky-jerky powerful like it wanted to buck you off, and now after about 6 hours of use, it barely wants to move its own treads on a flat surface even at 3/4 or full throttle.

I deally, you'd want a trackhoe taking them out. A skidder for getting them to the pile and a dozer for pushing them into the pile and smoothing out the land.
