Plus 50 is JD 15-40 motor oil. Your Rotella should be fine. JD hydraulic oil would be Hy-Guard. Go with the book, use the 15-40 I need to remove the hydraulic reservoir on a 250 JD skid steer. It appears to be "wedged in there" pretty good!! Please don't tell me I have to remove the engine!!!

Hey guys, just got done with a fresh rebuild on a Deere 240 with a 3029 motor in it. What do You guys recommend for break in oil? Something lighter than 15-40? We had an issue on our 250 with the parking brake staying on. Don't recall if the seat belt light stayed on though. There is a selonoid for the park brake under the shroud between the foot pedals that was bad on ours.

I've located a JD 250 skid loader for sale that has a wheel motor and a brake cylinder leaking hydraulic fluid. I've heard the early 200 series were known for having hydraulic leaks. How bad are these to fix and keep fixed?
