I just bought a 1 ton chinese mini excavator today at an online auction. I have watched a bunch of videos and they seem to hold up quite well and have a briggs and straton engine which is easy to get parts for.

#1. I am thinking of adding a low hour tracked machine to my fleet. I really wanted a takeuchi tl140 or tl10 or even a tl150 or 12. I want an enclosed cab machine with ac. Not sure about hi flow. Today, I went and tested out a 440ct. It drove just like my 75xt. I knew when I got in it that I was in trouble. We have a Case 445 and absolutley love it. Has a foot throttle which after running ours, I hate running any skid steer that doesn't have a foot throttle. 2 speed is a must. Cab with heat/AC is nice for summer work and snow removal in the winter. Its a midsize machine with a large frame engine. As mentioned by Ozarkag, the drives are probably the weakest part of the package. If the oil in the finals were changed on time, that helps. Series 3 is a pilot controlled machine. You can switch the pattern with a pattern change kit that came from CASE. A forum thread about the performance and maintenance of case 450ct skid steer.
