My husband and I repaired our bobcat 753 skidsteer yesterday and were thrilled when we finally had no creeping in either wheel. While we did this adjustment we had the cat up on lifts and the engine running with the cab up. I rigged it together like a wheel puller and then used it as a press to insert the new bushing back in place. The steering levers are considerably tighter but I still have some creeping. I guess my next step is to adjust the steering linkage. i have a 642b bobcat that creeps forward. i've been told it needs adjusting or that there is an adjustment for this problem. does anyone out there know how to make this "adjustment" ? local dealer implies it is something they would have to do. hopefully, i can do it myself. thanks in advance.
Loosen the front and rear stop bar, 2 bolts each. Start the engine and holding the lever and stop stop together twist it till the right hand wheels stop moving. You really only need to twist the top as the lower bolt has just a round hole but the top is slotted for adjustment. Common adjustment problem on Bobcats, easy to fix.
